My art practice focuses on the interplay between people and materials in different spaces. I create playful, large-scale, immersive installations that explore materials, light, shadow, projections, sounds, textures and movement. My work considers the way a particular environment may enhance certain behaviours and moods. It also focuses on the importance of play.
I offer bespoke artworks, installations and workshops. In addition, I incorporate photography, drawing and writing within my practice. I also provide creative consultation and project management. I aim to communicate a fresh viewpoint and promote creative troubleshooting and collaboration.
Much of my work includes developing and delivering creative learning programmes and workshops. I work regularly as a freelance artist and educator at the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester Art Gallery, Tate Liverpool and the Hepworth Wakefield. I have also recently worked as Early Years Coordinator at the Whitworth and Early Years & Families Learning Curator at Tate Liverpool.
I have been fortunate enough to work with a wide range of people within my work. I am also an Early Years specialist and have developed and delivered award-winning Early Years and Families workshops, projects and exhibitions following the completion of my MA in Art & Design in Education at the Institute of Education, London (2008)..
Other organisations include the BBC, Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art, Curious Minds, Manchester Museum, Lime Arts, National Museums Liverpool, the Just So Festival, the Bridgewater Hall, Chester Performs and a number of schools, children centres and community settings.
