Creative Collaboration is an initiative led by project consultants from Manchester Education Partnerships, creative consultants, artists and children’s centre practitioners. Michiko is currently working as an artist or ‘creative collaborator’ and has been immersed in two children centres for nearly two years. Taking inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach, Creative Collaboration encourages creative development within the learning environment as artists, children, centre practitioners and parents work together to develop rich, meaningful learning experiences through play and exploration. Action research also takes place in children’s centres, as all sessions are documented by its participants. The question that underpins the approach is ‘How do we make visible the different voices of children?’
