Having already developed a personal fascination in paper dolls, Michiko was pleasantly surprised to see a job advertisement featuring the following keywords: ‘Project Coordinator needed to coordinate a world record attempt - the world’s longest paper doll chain’. Michiko responded and found herself in the unique position of running paper doll workshops in a primary school in Little Sutton, Cheshire. She worked with children of all ages and essentially turned the school into a paper doll-making factory for a few days. Each paper chain had to have a minimum of ten dolls, which is hard work for small hands.
